Mark holds Doctor of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees from Regent University, VA.
His doctoral research centered on missional family wholeness, characteristics, and
mobilization; and his graduate coursework emphasized leadership renewal, life coaching,
biblical studies, and practical theology. As a doctor of the Church, Mark seeks to support the
healthy and faithful presence of the Body of Christ, which especially fits with the mission of
the Safe Place Ministry team!
His professional experience spans local and international leadership, teaching, capacity-
building, governance, development, and ministry in church, school, and community
organizational settings. An ordained pastor and Spanish-speaker, Mark has certification as a
Trust-Based Relational Intervention® Practitioner, Trauma-Competent Caregivers Trainer,
Making Sense of Your [Past] Worth Facilitator, and Professional Lifetime Superintendent
with the Association of Christian Schools International. He has written one book (Think
Kingdom—Be Family, Xulon Press, 2014) and is working on another (God’s Victory by His
Grace: A Beautiful Servant), based on the testimony and legacy of Victoria Grace, his daughter who lived for six days after her birth in 2008.
Most of all, Mark enjoys life with his wife, Kristin, and their three children!
